The First Reunion of Błaszczychas was convened to Strachocina, Poland at the centenary of the death of
Błażej.
An author of the idea of the reunion and its main organizer was Władysław. He was also the one that prepared a reunion poster (appr. 1,2 m high, 1,8 m wide) with the family tree
(picture shows it placed on the wall of living room of family house in Strachocina).
The Reunion was held on August 11-12, 1900 and was prolonged for next days
as three American members of the family arrived only on August 13.
They were late for they couldn't manage plane tickets on time.
Along with them there were only 19 persons that took part in the event, including 6 youngsters.
They were:
- Rose Taylor de domo Piotrowska
with her husband Earl and her daughter Lorrie,
- Bronisława Piotrowska,
- Barbara with her daughter-in-law
Ania and her baby grandson Oskar,
- Władysław
and Tadeusz Piotrowscy
from Gdansk with their wifes and sons (in full force),
- Marek Piotrowski with his son Bartek,
- Alina Klimkowska with her husband
Jan and her daughter Ania.

The Second Reunion of Błaszczychas was held in Strachocina, Poland at
farm buildings
of late Stanisław and
Bronisława.
The main organizer was Władysław again.
37 (of 45) members of Polish branch of The Family came to take part in the reunion.
Four representatives of American Błaszczychas: Rose,
Lorrie,
Rosanne
and Dean
- all from the Ohio branch - came too. Two honorary guests were invited:
father Kazimierz Piotrowski
and Marylka Lisowska.
There were yet official guests:
a mayor of the village with his secretary and other "non-family"
participants, mostly boyfriends and girlfriends of young members of the family.
The reunion was held on July 15-16 but most participants came to Strachocina earlier.
They (we) made preparations for the event. Uninhabited for years
house demanded
plenty of work to make it so-so tidy. Especially the barn that was refashioned into a ballroom.
But just these preparations brought on situation favorable for having a good time.
They changed into unofficial part of the reunion - quite true that the most pleasing one.
Special regard was paid to the family tree. It was painted on big cardboard sheet
(appr. 2.5 m high, 3 m wide) during a few days.
In evenings we were composing next and next stanzas of the family song.
We intended to describe (a little bit caustically) in them each family belonged to our Clan.
Last day two big tents were pitched at the yard, next to the barn.
Big plastic sheet was stretched between them and a gate of the barn.
We assumed that better be safe than sorry - weather forecast for nearest days was rain.
And the forecast was right. Only the first day of the reunion was (initially) sunny.
Later it rained and in the night started to pour.
Anyhow most of planned reunion events were held. Among them sport events:
throwing horseshoes contest and darts contest (but not race to "Stowki" and not
contests in scything and sickling corn). Prizes for winners (and gifts for all participants) had been supplied in part by
Robert
and in part (plenty of nice toys for children) by the American guests.
Great Polonaise to the music from movie "Pan Tadeusz" by Andrzej Wajda (honorary Oscar 2000 winner)
opened evening dances in the barn.
When it grew dark bonfire was set. Sausages were roasted and convival songs sung.
Next day the reunion changed to more private because of bad weather.
People in part left, the rest had to stay indoors. Excursion to the open air museum
in Sanok was called off.
